Sensory bins are proven to help children expand language, increase fine motor development, learn science and math skills, improve social skills, and meet sensory needs as children and their brains grow and change.
As a mother and former teacher, I know and see the importance of these skills. Sensory bins have also been some of my own kids' favorite things to play with. They're great as calm-down and quiet activities, indoor projects on a rainy day, or as a way to engage and learn with your child.
Each sensory bin includes a box for contained play, a "ground" base, toys for engagement, and tools for discovery play. See below for more information on specific contents on each bin.
Dino Dig: Multiple dinosaur skeletons, sand, "digging brushes," trees, magnifying glass, and dinosaur information cards.
Construction Site: Mini construction vehicles, traffic signs, play trees, "dirt" floor, and mini construction tools.
Flower Garden: "Dirt" floor, set of mini garden tools, flower pots, play flowers and trees, and a mini fence.
